Conservation
Rooflights® are well liked by planners and architects
due to their traditional appearance.
When project architect, Elspeth Beard was making her decision
on which rooflights to use on Threshing Barn the key issue
was the planning authoritys insistence on conservation
style rooflights. Her choice of Conservation Rooflights®
from The RoofLight Company was based on their aesthetic
appearance and the fact that they had a unique thermal
lining.
Conservation Rooflights®
have been specified in thousands of historic properties
throughout the UK, a large number of these being in converted
and new barns. The reason for this is due to the fact that,
unlike modern roof windows they have a traditional appearance.
Planning Authorities and architects like the way they sit
flush with the roof as opposed to standing proud of the
roof line. They also prefer the proportions and fine steel
lines of the Conservation Rooflight® as well as the
glazing bar which divides the glazing panels.
Although Conservation Rooflights® appear traditional
they have a modern specification including K
toughened glass achieving a U Value of 1.7W/m2 oK. The Thermoliner®
thermally decoupled lining ensures that internal surfaces
are warm-to-the-touch, and that no cold bridging occurs.
There are 22 sizes to choose from including 2 Escape versions,
and any shape, size or colour can be achieved according
to specific needs.
