Stripping
the Barn
Nothing prepared
us for the amount of ‘crap’, the only word
for it! , that came out of the barn in preparation
for the rebuild.
Years of rotting straw and hay had to be lifted from
the barn floor. Builder, Peter Shoesmith, had three
men working tirelessly with the help of lour ocal farmer’s
tractor and trailer to drag out the filth and rat pooh!
It seemed to take forever, when all we wanted was to
see the skeleton of the building.

At last the roofers could start
with the promise of fine weather and the Victorian
tiles were brilliantly removed and stacked for re
use – with the help of Peter’s whacky
conveyer belt. The concrete tiles fell to their long
awaited death and Mouse our dog experienced a few
near misses.
