In
order to maximise the contemporary interior of the
Threshing
Barn the clean lines and uncluttered vistas through the
three dimensional spaces could not be compromised.
The extreme
roof height and vastly differing room sizes require a heating
system which is both sensitive and efficient whilst
being
totally unobtrusive.
Heat profiles of warm water underfloor heating show how
it concentrates warmth in the parts of the room used by
people not unused areas up in the eaves, making it an efficient,
ideal choice for any large, open space and rooms with high
ceilings. At the other end of the scale, small rooms can
be used to their maximum advantage as there is no restriction
on where to place furniture.
The individual room control advocated means that
heat can be provided where and when it is wanted. In the
Threshing Barn hidden sensors were supplied by Smart Controls.
In this property underfloor heating has been used with several
different types of floor covering. It is suitable for use
with stone, ceramics, wood - both solid and laminate, and
good quality carpet. As Phillip Traill says, "Angela
and I are very happy and the dog absolutely loves it".
